Rubber Chicken Bones

You’ve probably seen a rubber chicken before. But how about a rubber chicken bone? They do exist, and here’s how you can make your very own.

1. Fill your jar with vinegar.
2. Place your chicken bone in the jar making sure it is completely covered in vinegar.  Let it sit for two days.

After you have waited for two days, remove the bone from the vinegar.  Now challenge your friends to make a wish with you, and see what happens.  The bone will have turned all rubbery and it will bend, making it impossible to break.

If you’re wondering what happened, it’s quite simple.  Our bones have a lot of calcium in them. The calcium is what makes our bones very hard.  Vinegar dissolved the calcium, turning it to rubber.  Cool, don’t you think?
